Our sponges - on NParks Buzz Feb 10

To celebrate International Year of Biodiversity our wildlife will be featured on NParks Buzz the NParks newsletter.
In the Feb 10 issue, the spotlight is on our sponges!

"Did you know that a natural bath sponge used to be a living marine animal? It is the skeleton of a marine sponge, which gives the animal its shape.

Spongia ceylonensis, a sponge found in Singapore, has a striking resemblance to the natural bath sponge Spongia officinalis from the Mediterranean Sea."
