5 Jun is World Environment Day!

There's lots of activities for us to learn and enjoy our biodiversity this weekend!
From Purple Mangroves, who conduct the origami sessions.

On 6 Jun (Sun), go for a special Mandarin guided walk of our mangroves at Sungei Buloh. 9.45-11.30am. At 2-3.30pm join their origami session to make delightful creatures of the mangroves. The activities are free but entrance fees apply: $1 per adult, 50cents per child/student/senior citizen.

Take the free Ikea Eco Bus. Enjoy the free ride and guided tour to Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve or Lower Peirce Reservoir Park with your friends and family the green way! HeART for Nature Workshop for kids. An art workshop that helps children to delve deep into their hearts to express nature in various themed art activities like drawing, fingerprinting, origami, puppet making. The children will also learn about our natural heritage. Free but pre-registration required. 9-10am at Lower Pierce Reservoir Park (big shelter next to fishing ground).

Lower Peirce Reservoir Park Hevea Trail: A Nature Appreciation Guided Walk. Learn more about our forest flora and fauna. The walk is free but pre-registration is required.

Walks at Sungei Buloh

Enjoy a guided tour of our mangroves at 3.30pm, with a special Marine Fish Tour at 9.30am. The walks are free but entrance fees apply: $1 per adult, 50cents per child/student/senior citizen.

Talks at Sungei Buloh

9.30-10.30am: "Spiders – Misunderstood creatures" - Are spiders 'scary'? What are the benefits of a healthy population of spiders in our environment? And have a closer look at the beautiful features of these amazing creatures.

1.30-2.30pm: "Our Treasures in the Sea" - The real treasures to a Biologist are the our marine organisms. Could we still find such 'treasures' in Singapore today?

2-3.30pm: "Biodiversity – Many Species, One Planet, One Future" - learn more about the biodiversity of Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve and of Singapore, find out more about our flora, fish, birds and insects/spiders.

There will also be an exhibition of the spiders of Sungei Buloh, on until 30 Jun.
